Studio 2 was established in 1991 by Marcia Kirk and two
fellow dance instructors. Our goal was to create a studio with small classes
so students could receive more personal attention from their teachers. The
studio has a diverse, highly-talented staff chosen for their technical
skills as well as their ability to interact positively with students of all
ages. Each member of our staff comes from a slightly different background,
thus providing high quality instruction to students of all dance interests
and levels.
Studio 2 is not a "competitive" studio but does have a performance group,
the Stars. Each year the students invited to be Stars perform at various
venues during the holiday season, and open and close the May recital at the Lied Center for the
Performing Arts. Students from the ages of three through adult enjoy classes
at studio 2, some just once a week, others as many as six or seven times a
week. With creative movement, ballet/pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop,
modern, technique, and cheerleading offered, there is something for
everyone.
As is the case with soccer, volleyball, and a myriad of other activities,
only a few will go on to a career in dance. Nonetheless, every studio 2
student comes away with a bit more grace and a true appreciation for this
beautiful art form. We hope to see you at studio 2!
